Halloween

Halloween has always been my second favorite holiday... I just LOVE it!!! I remember thinking for months beforehand about what I wanted to be, then I would announce my intention to my mom. She was such a good sport.... she would come up with a costume for anything. We always had soup served from a hollowed pumpkin, then we would set out for a night of gathering FREE candy! It was so great. At the end of the night, we would come home with our loot and proceed to organize it in piles on the floor and then barter with each other while we watched a Halloween movie and ate homemade donuts (and in later years Jack-o-Lantern pizza). I seriously have the best memories of Halloween. So... I was naturally devasted when I found out I had to work this year. But at least I got off a little early and was able to make it for a scary movie night at Britt and Eric's! AND all was not lost, because we still did pumpkins! In fact, we made a date night of it. Griff and I went to the pumpkin patch and picked out our pumpkins the day before Halloween. That night, Griff took me out for Thai food, which was yummy. We saved room for a pumpkin shake afterward and headed home to carve our Jack-o-Lanterns. You can see our masterpieces below. :)

PS My favorite holiday is Christmas. Really... who's isn't?
