Island Park Baby

Island Park is one of my new favorite places... imagine fishing, hiking, boating, riding motorbikes, shooting bows, canoe rides, and Yellowstone all packed into one place. Seriously amazing! My Uncle Ron and Aunt Laura have two beautiful cabins in Island Park, and they invited the whole Rice side of the family for a fabulous weekend in August. (I know, once again I am posting VERY late.) We had so much fun, and it was especially neat to get to be with all our extended family. It reminded me of when we were little... except that we all have little ones now. :)

Here is a Shiras moose we floated past on our canoe ride. Poor little Jack had an allergic reaction to his sunscreen... hives all over his little head and screaming like a Banshee. Even Uncle Jim wanted to know what was wrong with "Happy Jack" as he calls him. :) Poor little guy. Griff bought him some Benadryl, and he ended up crashed in the front of the canoe for 90% of the ride. But I have to admit, this made it a little more fun for Griff and I. Haha.
Happy again after he woke up!
The GRAND FISH (and only fish) we were able to catch while we were canoeing. :)

One night we had a campfire... it was my favorite! Everyone told stories they remembered about each other from the past. I especially loved when Grandpa told about the first time he saw Grandma. She was riding a bike and he thought she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. He said he thought, "I'm going to marry that girl." And sure enough, he did! It was so sweet. I love my grandparents so much.
After all the reminiscing, Uncle Jim got out his guitar, and we had fun singing songs. I wish we had him around all the time! I loved it!

Amy kept Wesley in check by letting him watch movies on this portable DVD player while she scrapbooked on her computer. I thought they looked so cute. :) Can you believe she is sitting Indian style while she is almost 8 months pregnant! Amazing!

We spent one afternoon in Yellowstone. We didn't have time to do much, but we enjoyed Old Faithful and got to go on a couple little walks with geysers, mud pots, and those things that let steam escape from the ground (I forget what they are called). It was the first time Griff had been there. Can you believe that!? I like the mud pots the best.

And one last pic of Matt and Wesley on the motorcycle. Wesley loved it... of course! He's such a cute little boy! I liked watching them riding around together.
