All Sorts of Stuff

I was scanning through my pictures tonight and realized how much I have missed posting about!  I had a rough month, but now I am ready to get caught up.  So this post will consist of a smattering of events and every day life in no particular order.

We'll start with the biggest event...my husband's birthday!  Griff's birthday was March 2, and the lucky guy got three parties out of it!  We went to dinner with his family the night before, then went on a special date the night of, and later had a party with my family which is when he finally got his birthday cake.  In my opinion cakes (or at least dessert with candles) are a must for all birthdays... no matter the age!  :)   Anyway, I love birthdays because they make you slow down and take time to appreciate the people you love.  And I do love my Griff!

My big bro, Matt, celebrates his birthday the week after Griff.  Doesn't he look so cute with his two little boys?  Matt is my only brother and one of my best friends.  Amy made him a much better cake than I made Griff: German Chocolate Cake made from scratch.  She even grated the coconut for it... impressive, I know.  It was so good!

This next picture is of Jack on the bean bag.  Griff drops him on it, saying "one, two, three" or "uno, dos, tres."  Now Jack goes around the house counting to three before he does all sorts of things.  It is SO cute!

My parents went out of town a few weeks ago, and Jack and I fed the horses every day.  Jack LOVED it!  I'd get him out of the car, set him down on the grass and away he'd go....  It's the same every time we visit the horses. I open the door, and he heads straight to the box of little apples my dad keeps in the barn for the horses.  Then he goes back and forth from the box to the horses for as long as I let him.  I'm surprised his little fingers don't get eaten because he offers the apples with his fingers wrapped around them.  I brought some carrots one day for a change and that is what Jack is feeding Coltrain in the picture.  I can't wait to take him on some rides this summer.  I'll bet he will love it!

My mom took me to dinner and Swan Lake at the Capitol theater.  It was so beautiful!  I loved it!  Christopher Rudd and Christiana Bennett were playing the lead roles that night, which was so fun because they are our favorites.  I'm so lucky my mom likes to take me, and I have to admit that I love any excuse to get my mom all to myself!

Is showering difficult for anyone else with kids?!  Granted, I love long showers.  But even after a 15 min shower, I often come out with my house destroyed.  Sometimes Jack cracks me up by bringing garbage, shoes, clothes from the hamper or clean ones from our drawers and trying to hand them to me while I am in the shower.  If I don't accept them, then he'll chuck them in anyway.  So rather than risk Griff's leather shoes getting drenched, I often end up with a little pile of things outside the shower that I have been forced to accept to keep them safely out of the water.  But lately.... I have been setting Jack up on my bed with pillows, blankies, and Babe on the DVR.  This buys me about 10-15min, which has saved me! When I get out I can often hear him making pig noises while he is playing with toys and semi watching the movie.  What a little cutie pie.

Are these not the funniest pictures of Wesley!?  Amy is so smart.  She keeps markers in a controlled environment... the highchair.  :)  Wesley did have a coloring book, but it turns out coloring yourself is so much more fun.  I love this busy little boy!

And here is our cute little nephew Logan!  I got to babysit Wes and Logan one Saturday morning. It was SO fun.  This baby is the easiest, happiest little guy.  I just love those big blue eyes and soft brown hair.

A Little Boy and his Daddy

I have the most amazing husband and the cutest little boy.  Individually, they are my favorite companions... but the combination? Totally irresistible!  When I hear them laughing and playing together, all my worries melt away for the moment.  And I can't help but join in.  Oh, just looking at these pictures makes me want to hug and kiss them both!  I am so blessed!

Jack crawled up on the bean bag to share a pillow and few plays with daddy during the Super Bowl this year.

Jack thinks it is hilarious to hide from Griff behind the curtain.  Griff always waits a moment and then snatches it back, tackling Jack and tickling him.  So cute!

Kisses for Daddy!
