I love Easter. Of course, I love all holidays. :) But dying Easter eggs... hunting for baskets and eggs... eating yummy food... what's not to love? We kicked off Easter one week early by going to Griff's Grandma Bonnie and Grandpa Jack Christensen's for their traditional egg dying with all the grandkids. Jack loves Grandpa Jack and gets really excited when we show up at their house. I can't say Jack was very into it the egg dying, but he had a blast with all his extended family. My father-in-law's family is awesome. They always make us feel loved and welcome, and they are so cute with my kids. It warms my heart to be there. Here are a few pics from the egg dying. Oh, and Jack did have a lot of fun hunting for these easter eggs a couple of times leading up to Easter and on Easter itself. :)

Growing up, my family always celebrated the "fun" Easter on Saturday and then had a calmer, more spiritual Easter on Sunday. I like this tradition and think I will keep it up with my family. Jack, Colt and I went to the Cedar Hills easter egg hunt in the morning (we didn't make the Highland one earlier... oops). It was kind of a joke. We waited forever. When it was finally time to hunt for the eggs, Jack got like 3 and it was over in less than five minutes.... maybe like two actually. Ah well, he had fun. In the afternoon, we had a very cold picnic. It was yummy, the kids had fun, and we enjoyed each other's company wrapped in coats and blankets. We ended up packing up early and going to Kangaroo Zoo with the kids.

Here is Jack with his Easter basket. He had to open every single one of his plastic eggs even though they all had the same treat in them. It was pretty cute. He got light up toothbrushes, a coloring book, a little football, and Cars jammies, too. It was really fun watching him look for his Easter basket. It was hidden behind our red couch in the corner. He looked all around saying all the time, "Gotta find it. Gotta find mine basket." When he finally spotted it, he shouted over and over, "I found it! There it is!"
Griff's parents do an Easter Egg hunt every year. This is the first year that Jack really got it, and he had a blast filling his basket. I couldn't get him to break his searching even for a second to take a pic. The eggs were hidden all over the Christensen's yard, which is big, and there were tons of them. It was really fun.
Aunt Nelly helping sweet baby Colt find a few eggs, too.
Daddy, AKA Jack's official basket holder. He couldn't be troubled to carry the basket AND collect eggs at the same time.
Jack wasn't afraid to get down and get dirty to get his eggs.
This is the best picture I could get with my little boy. Even then, I had to hold an egg up to get him to look up instead of down at his overflowing basket. :)
Chet gathering eggs.
Kara posed for me but notice she is still searching for eggs...
And Anika is like Jack... she couldn't be bothered with posing for a picture when eggs were still to be found.
My mom and dad were visiting Britt's family in Seattle so we didn't get to see them this Easter. We missed you, Mom and Dad!
